Ambvon Prayer on the Feast of St Michael

O holy God, Who hast established the fearsome ranks of the Cherubim under Thee, and hast made the holy, most pure and magnificent, winged, flame bearing Seraphic powers to stand in order before Thee: Who art glorified by the terrible might of holy Archangels: Thyself, O Mastermost high, accept the prayer and thanksgiving of us sinners, and preserve the fulness of Thy Church; vest Thy priests in righteousness, and unto thy servants the deacons, bestow a good degree, and make them too worthy of Thine honourable priesthood. Grant righteous victories to those in civil authority, strengthen the Christ-loving armies against the adversary; and bless Thy people who stand round about, with a spiritual blessing. For from Thee is every good gift, and every every perfect gift cometh down from above, from Thee, the Father of Lights; and to Thee do we send up glory, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
